Getting Ready for the School Year!

Walden Community School's teams are working hard to get ready for an amazing year.  Parents, teachers, and Community Advisors have been painting, planting, shelving, and organizing.  Our beautiful new front sign was designed by Community Advisor, Dr. Barbara Carson, and installed over a twice-painted wall (oh, that Florida rain!) by another hard-working Community Advisor, Dr. Hoyt Edge.  While the heads of our PTA lead the landscape crew to remodel the exterior, including a new courtyard and organic garden, other volunteers help move furniture and redesign rooms to make way for the new Lower School addition coming this fall.

Meanwhile, the teachers are hard at work designing curriculum.  This week, Dr. Bob, Walden's Physical Science Community Advisor, was in town to assist with science curriculum development within the historical timeline being studied.  Look out for some exciting projects and experiments!

We can't wait for everyone to meet our teachers and advisors, to see all the beautiful campus renovations, and to hear more about what's in store for the students this semester, both at school and after school.  See you on Monday, August 24th for Open House at 10am!
