The first project in the "Elements of Construction" Friday after-school Art Class was making mud brick structures. Students looked at various types of buildings made of mud-brick, and then made some of their own by mixing water, soil, and grass, and by squeezing and shaping them with their hands. By the second class, the bricks had become very hard! Students used a mixture of soil and watered-down glue as their "mortar" to stick their homemade bricks together. Students made a a lot of imaginative structures!
