Reach Out

Engaging with our community is a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership and is how we define “reaching out”. At Walden Community School, our education is actively linked to each interaction within our global community. Every experience provides an opportunity for teaching and learning.

Our reach out has allowed WCS students unique opportunities to give back while teaching and learning. Students wrote, choreographed, created costumes and performed skits for patients at local hospitals. They also wrote and performed puppet shows at local libraries, including designing and building the set, and creating their own puppets. The reciprocal benefits of serving the community are endless.

We also teach students to reach out through ecological and social awareness. Students are encouraged to make a positive impact on the world through conservation and ecological stewardship.
